Volvo Trucks said “hold my meatballs” and upgraded their FH Aero Electric semi to a very respectable 435 miles of range on a single charge.

The secret? A fancy new compact rear electric axle that frees up space for even more batteries. Now fleet operators can actually consider doing real long-haul routes without range anxiety.

Volvo basically looked at the “electric trucks will never work for long distance” crowd and replied with extra batteries and better packaging.

Meanwhile, the rest of us are over here doing the math:

  • 435 miles is legit impressive for a heavy-duty EV semi
  • No diesel smell
  • No idling noise
  • Just peaceful, zero-emission hauling

It’s a solid flex in the electric trucking game. Every extra mile these big rigs can go without diesel makes the whole industry shift a little faster.

Congrats to Volvo — this is genuinely cool progress for electric freight.

Now we’re all just waiting to see how this stacks up when the real heavyweights start throwing down bigger numbers…
