France has stated that Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) system is not ready for approval, citing concerns that it can exceed speed limits and does not sufficiently ensure driver attention in complex urban environments. Officials stressed that FSD is not fully autonomous, and drivers remain legally responsible while the EU works toward a common safety framework.
The decision could delay FSD availability in Europe while regulators and automakers align on shared safety standards.
