Heart Aerospace’s X1, described as the world’s largest battery-electric aircraft, has completed its first flight at Plattsburgh International Airport in New York. The 27-minute flight reached 1,100 feet and used more than 1 MW of power, with electricity reportedly costing around $5. The X1 is a full-scale demonstrator for the upcoming ES-30 regional aircraft, targeted for service around 2031.
The ES-30 is planned for up to 200 km of all-electric range and 800 km in hybrid operation, potentially cutting operating costs by more than 40%.
