Tesla: “We’re building a massive, dedicated robo-charging hub for our huge future robotaxi fleet!” Also Tesla, a few months later: “…actually never mind, delete that application, thanks.”

The robotaxi charging stations are now officially canceled. Why? Because there are still zero robotaxis on the road. Zero regulatory approvals. Zero signs of a fleet. Just vibes, PowerPoints, and very confident tweets from 2019.

It’s like announcing you’re building a 10,000-stall horse stable… then realizing you don’t own any horses. Or even a barn. Or a field. Just a dream and a really nice rendering.

Meanwhile the proposed charging hub is sitting there like: “I was supposed to juice up an army of autonomous Cybercabs… and instead I’m just gonna quietly disappear from the paperwork.”

Tesla fans: “It’s just a strategic pivot!” Reality: “It’s a strategic pivot into ‘maybe in 2028… or 2030… or when the sun explodes’.”

At this rate the only thing getting charged is our patience.

Who’s keeping score on the robotaxi timeline bingo card? My square for “cancels charging infrastructure before any robotaxis exist” just hit.
