A 2.17-mile ride in Austin reportedly cost $6.42 in a Tesla Cybercab, compared with $11.95 for UberX before tip. That works out to about $2.95 per mile for Cybercab versus $5.50 for UberX.
If Cybercab can maintain competitive pricing as Tesla expands its robotaxi network, autonomous rides could become an increasingly attractive option for short city trips.
UberX: “That’ll be $11.95.”
Cybercab: “I can do $6.42.”
My wallet: “We’re taking the Cybercab.”
