Doug DeMuro just dropped the most savage Cybertruck prophecy of 2025:
“In 18 months, used Cybertrucks will be selling for $35,000.”
Current situation: New ones started at $80k+ (after the $40k promise vanished like a bad dream) Used ones already dipping into the $60k → $50k range DeMuro: “Once a bunch hit two years old, depreciation is going to be brutal.”
Translation for Cybertruck owners: You paid supercar money for a stainless-steel polygon… and in 18 months it’ll be worth less than a loaded Honda Civic.
Imagine explaining to your friends: “Yeah, I bought it new for $100k after options… now it’s worth what a used Camry with 150k miles goes for. But it’s bulletproof! …and angular! …and still looks like a PS1 render!”
Tesla fans in the comments: “It’s not depreciation, it’s democratization of futuristic design.” DeMuro: “Sure, but at $35k it’ll be democratized right into someone’s driveway who actually wanted a truck.”
At this rate, the Cybertruck resale value is dropping faster than Elon’s Twitter poll approval ratings.
Who’s buying a used one at $35k in 2027 just to flex the “I got it for the price of a Corolla” energy? Hands up!
