Ford CEO Jim Farley just held a press conference that basically sounded like this:

“Hi everyone… yeah, so remember when we built that $95,000 electric F-150 Lightning the size of a studio apartment? Turns out normal humans looked at it, looked at their driveway, looked at the price tag, looked at the 200-mile towing range… and said ‘lol no.’

We thought you wanted a 10,000-pound electric barge that costs more than a house down payment and charges slower than a sloth on vacation. You did not. Not. Want. That.

Message received.

So we’re going full 180: tiny, cheap, practical EVs that don’t require their own zip code and actually charge before your coffee gets cold. We’re calling the new strategy ‘Not Insane.’ Also bringing back hybrids, because apparently giving people 600 miles of range and no range anxiety is suddenly cool again.”

Somewhere in the audience, a guy in a Cybertruck shirt whispered, “First time?” 😂

Moral of the story: If your truck needs its own area code, maybe the customer isn’t the problem.
