Ford just waved the white flag on the F-150 Lightning.
CEO Jim Farley in a nutshell: “We spent BILLIONS trying to convince America they wanted a $90k electric truck the size of Delaware with 200-mile towing range… Turns out they did not. Lesson learned. Wallet closed.”
So the Lightning is basically riding off into the sunset, leaving exactly THREE American full-size electric trucks on the menu:
- Chevy Silverado EV
- GMC Sierra EV (same truck, fancier badges)
- Tesla Cybertruck (the one that looks like a low-poly PS1 render)
Translation: GM brought two flavors of the same vanilla ice cream, and Tesla brought a stainless-steel origami triangle that can out-tow both… while bulletproofing your ego.
Ford owners somewhere polishing their V8s: “Told y’all electricity was a fad.”
Meanwhile Elon is quietly adding “Ford quit” to the Cybertruck brochure under “competitive advantages.”
RIP F-150 Lightning. You were too big, too expensive, and too thirsty to live. We hardly knew ye… because nobody bought ye.
Who’s winning the electric truck wars now? Place your bets.
