China’s Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL), the world’s largest electric vehicle battery maker, has launched a groundbreaking EV chassis called “panshi” (Bedrock) that can withstand a 120 km/h (75 mph) frontal impact without catching fire or exploding!
This innovative chassis features a battery capable of running for about 1,000 km on a single charge and significantly reduces the time required for mass production from 36 months to just 12-18 months. CATL aims to sell this new EV platform to premium carmakers, helping them accelerate development and reduce costs.
